Situated next to the Holiday Inn Bolton Centre, an IHG Hotel, The Cloisters stands as one of Bolton's hidden gem, a versatile meeting and event space seamlessly managed by the hotel. A venue tailored for any occasion, particularly weddings, The Cloisters boasts various areas, including a stunning converted church with preserved features like stained-glass windows and majestic arches.

With years in the industry, it became evident that The Cloisters' brand needed a rejuvenation. The existing branding fell short of capturing the elegance and timelessness embodied by the venue. Eager to enhance its appeal, we undertook the task of crafting a more fitting brand identity, coupled with an efficient website and digital marketing strategy.

02. Branding

The former branding for The Cloisters featured a straightforward geometric logo, a rhombus within a circle, accompanied by a formal sans font and a colour palette of white and dark green.

Our mission was to elevate the branding to better mirror the exceptional services provided by The Cloisters. We envisioned a design that captured the grace and lightness synonymous with weddings while maintaining the formal touch needed for meetings and events.

Beginning with the logo, our team retained the circular motif but introduced a delicate flower reminiscent of the church's fronton, a nod to the distinctive charm of weddings. This floral element seamlessly replaced the "O" in Cloisters, beautifully complemented by the timeless Operetta font. The colour palette underwent a transformation, shifting from a sporty dark green to an elegant forest green, paired with light grey and olive green for a refined aesthetic.

The circular symbol, now adorned with the floral element, emerged as a unifying graphic motif woven seamlessly throughout The Cloisters' collateral, adding a touch of sophistication and cohesiveness to the overall brand identity.

03. Website

With the establishment of the revamped brand guidelines and graphic elements, our team seamlessly transitioned into the website rebranding phase. The outcome resonated strongly with the hotel owners, who expressed their appreciation for the significantly enhanced appeal of the new website compared to its predecessor. The introduction of the fresh colour palette played a pivotal role, infusing the website with a lighter and more sophisticated ambiance.

The redesigned layout follows a minimalistic approach, ensuring ease of navigation and a simplified user journey. To optimise the website's reach and accessibility, our team conducted a thorough content analysis and implemented strategic SEO enhancements. The result is a website that not only reflects the refined identity of The Cloisters but also provides a seamless and engaging experience for a broader audience.
